Pretty, intelligent and headstrong Venla nearly has it all - a secure job as a marriage counsellor, a large house with all the mod-cons and a doting, successful husband. All she needs now is to have children.

But life is rarely so simple as to give us what we think we want and deserve. When Venlas husband is caught spiking her drink with contraceptives, her world is turned upside down.

Turning to lesbian work colleague Satu, Venla embarks on a mission to get herself pregnant, with or without a man by her side. However, as Satu and Venla become closer, Venla comes to question her ideals.

Did she ever love her husband? Does she really want children? Is she falling in love with Satu?

As more questions arise, Venlas self-discovery and attraction to Satu grows, forcing herself to wonder, just how many mothers does it take to raise a child?
