Stats: Born in London in April 1976, this mysterious, shy lady has followed her childhood dream of becoming a successful screen actress, having been involved in several productions for both the big and small screen.

Being huge fans of the literary author Sarah Waters, we first noticed Miss Hawkins in the BBC's TV adaptation of Tipping the Velvet.

Her reappearance in Fingersmith only added to our curiosity, intrigue and motivation to find out a little more about this seductive temptress.

Hugely dedicated to her career, Sally has racked up an impressive array of theatre, TV and film appearances including the film Happy-Go-Lucky, which won her the coverted Golden Globe award for Best Actress in 2008.

Not much is known about her private life, but we do know that she is an avid supporter of Birds Eye View, a charity that celebrates and supports women filmmakers, so perhaps there is a bit of the Dark Side in her!

Whatever her orientation, we love her and keenly look forward to future opportunities of seeing this cutie on our screens.
